LeBron and his K900 (Photo: Kia) Bidding is now underway at Charitybuzz.com for the auction of LeBron James' customized Kia K900, known as the "King James Edition."
First unveiled at the 2015 NBA All-Star game at New York's Madison Square Garden, the customized "Pearl Red Metallic" King James Edition K900 also made auto show appearances in Cleveland and New York in April. Select customization elements include Alcantara Suede interior and headliner, color-matched diamond contrast stitching throughout, Llumar® Ceramic window tint, customized Lexicon® Logic 7® audio system, personalized King James Limited Edition Plaque #01 and LBJ icons in the headrests.
LeBron fans can bid on the car at the Charitybuzz site through 3 p.m. ET on May 7.
“I’m excited to share this custom car with the winning bidder and even more proud that all of the proceeds are going to help my Foundation continue its amazing work,” said James. "All of the proceeds raised will help us keep kids in school and give them an education that is extremely important for their futures.” The Foundation's mission is to positively affect the lives of children and young adults through education and co-curricular educational initiatives.
We inspected this car at the recent New York show and were pretty much underwhelmed by it, as were a number of other automotive journalists, who simply walked past without noticing. However, we have high praise for the K900 overall. Even though LeBron's ride may not necessarily be worth the estimated $168,000+ value, it is a great sedan and the proceeds will certainly go to a worthy cause.
