Our guess is that these gaping maws will be around for a while. ( Jeez, and they wonder why consumers think all cars look alike.) Apologies if the sampling below makes some of you gag . . . or scream. (If we've missed any examples, please send them along.)
How long do we think it will take before automotive designers exhaust the slack-jawed grilles spouting up on a host of different makes? It all started with Audi, which -- a number of years back -- allowed its grilles to start dripping over the front bumper like some Salvatore Dali lithograph. Our guess is that these gaping maws will be around for a while. ( Jeez, and they wonder why consumers think all cars look alike.) Apologies if the sampling below makes some of you gag . . . or scream. (If we've missed any examples, please send them along.) All grille photos are courtesy of the manufacturers. (You know who you are.)

Thanks, Debra. As you know, the grille thing has only gotten worse since this was written.
